Thankful For Grocery Shopping

Today was grocery shopping day for me. And I must confess, this task has not been on my favorite list of domestic activities for awhile now. Primarily because of how much I get stared at for wearing a head scarf, or showing off my itty bitty new hairs.

And the whole process of having to make a list and be all organized.

Not a very easy or pleasant thing for this housewife. ;)

I made several stops, and realized at the last minute I needed a loaf of crusty French bread for a French toast casserole that I am preparing this weekend.

So I stopped in to a local grocery store, found the loaf I needed in the bakery, and headed for the self-checkout.

While carrying the loaf through the store, a memory flashed in my head. Me as a child, pretending to stop at a bakery, and carry a fresh loaf of bread home. :)

With a silly little smile on my face, I paid for my loaf of bread, walked out the door, and silently thanked the LORD for making a childhood dream come true.

And for giving me the health, and the means to buy groceries for my husband and I. Even if I get stared at. :)

Has the LORD brought a childhood dream of yours to life? What simple task are you thankful today?

Have a wonderfully blessed day everyone! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I'm thankful for grocery shopping too. The grocery store and fruit stands are my favorite places to shop. :)
Thanks for this simple reminder. I am thankful for errands. I'm thankful we can have things in our lives that need to be done, and we have a car to get to one place or another.
    Love.

  2. My baby has been in the hospital for the last 21/2 months and this week is our first week back home. After being cooped up in a hospital room, I am so thankful just to be home with my family, to do housework and to be busy again. I've never appreciated the normal things of everyday life so much before! :)

Well hello there! Thanks for stopping by! I LOVE to hear from you all out there. Just please remember to keep everything kind and Christ-like. In the words of that wise papa rabbit, "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all". :)
