The Simple Joy of Chickens

I'm pretty sure I have said this before, but I have gotta say it again. I think one of my favorite blessings in this life, is the ability to raise chickens.

And I feel so blessed today, that I have been able to continue to raise chickens after being married.

Being able to walk out to the coop, and see them all run up to greet me...

 to feed them scraps...

learn each one's personality...

to watch them walk about, and explore the yard...

or just peck and scratch in the dirt...

just brings the most simple, sweet, and peaceful kind of joy in life.

Do you own chickens? What are you feeling blessed with this day?

Have a wonderfully blessed day! thanks for stopping by!

  1. hehe they're so cute!! Chickens are fun. My family used to raise chickens, and now that they're moving again and will have more land, they'll be raising chickens again! I can't wait to visit :)
Today I am feeling blessed with keeping busy. I was looking at our calendar and June is already filling up so quickly, and I realized that it shouldn't be a stress in life - it's a blessing.
Thanks for sharing these happy pictures! :)

  2. I love your chickens! They're so cute. Our neighbor had ones that looked like that. We have a few chickens. We had 20 and more at one time, but they kinda died out. :( We even hatched babies!!!!! :)

  4. Ahhh! It's been a dream of mine to own chickens for such a long time! Somehow it never worked out between my really demanding job and commute and then having a baby, but I tell myself that when he is older maybe we can get some chickens and raise them together. Your photos really do communicate that simple sweet joy of having them!
