To Be Married To This Man...

"A sure sign of a man's strength, is how gently he loves his wife."
-Fiercemarriage.com

I'll never understand how I could be so blessed, to be married to this man. My dear, sweet, amazing, outstandingly good looking hubby, Justin...

He knows that I have REALLY wanted to go do something "different" of late. So Sunday afternoon, he took me down to a Civil War historic site, that also happens to be near the beach...

But this post is not about that trip. But what the LORD revealed to me on this trip...

I've always known that my husband loves me. But just how much and how he loves me, wow. I am truly blown away...

He puts up with my grouchiness in the morning. He is patient when I am wallowing in self pity for the billionth time...

He seeks to learn my likes and dislikes. And forgives my short temper daily...

I really don't see what makes me desirable to him. But to him, I am the perfect one for him...

GOD showed to me on this trip, that marriage with my husband, and his patience in all of my misgivings and short comings, is the perfect example of the love Christ has for each, that are a part of his church.

Through all our failures, HE is there for us, calling us to HIM. Patiently waiting, and graciously "putting up" with our shortcomings. None of us are worthy of HIM. But praise HIM! HE loves us anyway...

22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

Ephesians 5:22-33

Today, I feel so blessed to married to this man. The one who daily shows the love Christ has for me, and each of HIS church...

What are you feeling blessed with this week?

Have a wonderfully blessed day everyone! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. This is such a beautiful post. Marriage has taught me so much about the love of Christ - particularly through the truly self-sacrificing love my husband continuously displays towards me. Aren't we lucky?! :)
