Justin and I celebrated our 17 month anniversary on Saturday. I couldn't help but go back down memory lane of that day, and reminisce with my sweet hubby on the most romantic moments of the day.
Like holding hands before the ceremony, and praying...
Seeing each other face for the first time, as I walked down the aisle...
That first kiss EVER...
And that long, slow kiss, the first time we were alone, that seriously made me dizzy, and feel as if I was going to faint ...
I thought about those sweet days, and gloriously long nights of our honeymoon too...
Yes. Those were some very romantic times. But not necessarily the most romantic of times of our married life.
I've always dreamed those sort of memories would stand out as the most "romantic" of my life. But after almost a year and a half of marriage, I've seen a more beautiful side of marriage. And yes, an even more romantic side.
Like, lying on the couch together watching football, me falling asleep, then waking up to hear him say how much he loves it when I fall asleep in his arms.
Sending random texts through the day saying "I miss you".
Finding the dishes washed and the kitchen spotless.
Being called beautiful, and being told I smell fine, with sweat dripping down the face and neck after a 30 minute run.
Hugging him when he walks in from work.
Him mowing the yard, then clearing my walking path of any clippings.
And back massages when monthly cramps are bringing me to tears.
I have found that it's not always the "big" moments in married life that have made me love my husband more. But the little moments, that occur everyday.
His never ending patience with my faults. And his unending love in my pain.
It's the everyday, ordinary things, that have been the most romantic moments of my life.
What is something your hubby does for you, to show his daily love?
Have a wonderfully blessed day everyone! Thanks for stopping by!

I *love* it! What a sweet post -- thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you. It has been the small, seemingly mundane moments in our marriage which have been the most romantic. My hubby is really good at making me coffee in the morning and in helping me keep the house tidy! It always makes me feel so loved when he helps me like that!
I hope this comment gets through ... for some reason my others kept magically disappearing on me!
Have a beautiful, blessed day with your man!
Ah ha! It went through! Yay!
ReplyDeleteWhich reminds me of a question I had which kept disappearing ... I would love to hear more on your teaching adventures. I subbed for a 5th grade classroom for the very first time two weeks ago and loved it. Do you like teaching? What has been most challenging for you? Most rewarding? I just loved your outfit of the day when you went back to school I had to ask this question. :)
Blessings and love!
Thank-you Frannie!
DeleteI did receive the comment you posted a little while back asking about my teaching. And a post about that is in the works. I hope to have it up by the end of this week (hopefully before).
I'm glad you enjoyed your day teaching! It is a very rewarding job. :D
All those little moments of everyday love are indeed the best kind of romance!
ReplyDeleteI can definitely relate to your list! The smallest little moments can be some of the sweetest, most romantic memories with my husband and I. :)
