I wish sometimes I could slow down time. It's seems as if the LORD made me wait forever to be united with my soul mate, Justin. Then we were married, and time seems to fly by so fast, my head seems in a whirl some days! I am just so thankful for GOD's perfect timing in our lives, and for the time we are given to spend as husband and wife.
We celebrated our first wedding anniversary last weekend...
Riding to the beach on Saturday...
Eating the most amazing fresh, doughnuts from a local shop. They are so good, we waited in line for 35 minutes...
Time to marvel at GOD's creation together...
And what's a better way to end a day at the shore than to stop by a local market and bring home some fresh oysters to roast...
We re-created our first kiss on Sunday...
Then my wonderful sis snapped a few pics, for us to remember the day by...
After pics, we went out to eat at one of our favorite restaurant's, Outback Steakhouse. We started talking about how wonderful a year it had been and we cannot wait to see where the LORD will lead us. We dreamed of land of our own, children, and more time spent together. I told him, how I sometimes fear the future. And then Justin said the sweetest thing ever to me, "No matter what happens, I'll be there by your side". :D
Little did I know that I would need him by my side so soon. When we arrived home, I looked over to where I had my 3 week old chicks in their pen, and saw the wire was pushed in. With my heart sunk down to my stomach, I ran over found none of them in the pen.
Four of the five were gone. With a dog to be the primary suspect in their deaths. One had managed to hide, and ran to me when it heard my voice. I know they were only chickens, but to me they were my pets, and I had loved and cared for them for those three weeks, as if they were my children.
Through all the tears, my sweet husband was right there with words of encouragement, just being the support and love I needed at that moment. And even though it was painful, I don't know what could have been a better way to start year two of marriage. :)
"As much as you want to plan your life, it has a way of surprising you with unexpected things that will make you happier than you originally planned. That is what you call GOD's will."
Have a wonderfully blessed day everyone! Thanks for stopping by!
Angel
Congratulations on your anniversary! I'm sorry about your chicks. : ( but how wonderful to have that encouragement and comfort right when you needed it. : )
ReplyDeleteMadeline
Happy belated Anniversary, Angel! I'm so glad that you were able to have a nice day before the tragedy with your chicks. :-( As Madeline said, I'm so glad that Justin was there with you; but I know that it still must have been awful.
ReplyDeleteI hope that, despite its sober beginning, your second year of marriage is full of love, strength, joy, and blessings for you both!! :-)
Hugs and prayers,
Vicki
